First Time to College Students
First Time to College students need to attend a Class Planning webinar where you will meet an academic counselor to create a first semester plan. When you log into Starfish, please select the Summer or Fall Class Planning Webinar service only. It is required prior to registration. Directions can be found below.

New Student Class Planning
After completing our Steps to Enrollment you are ready to begin your New Student Class Planning
Fall 2026: Please contact our Academic Counseling Center at academiccounselingcenter@pipeline.sbcc.edu for further instructions on how to proceed.
New Student Class Planning Sessions are a required step to enrollment for all First Time to College students (who have never attended a college/university after graduation from high school). Once you attend a group class planning session and create a first semester course plan with a counselor, your class planning hold will be removed and you will be able to register. Class Planning will help you understand pre-requisites, skills advisories, and which courses to select to reach your educational goals. They are offered via webinar.
If you are a New Transfer student or are a Returning student class planning is not the correct service for you. You will need to visit the New Transfer student or Returning student website for your steps to enrollment.
Prior to attending class planning:
- Complete Online Orientation.
- F-1 Visa Students: Complete your online orientation found here-> Online Orientation
- Explore the SBCC programs of study and begin identifying a possible major and your academic goal.
- Seats are limited and sessions fill fast, plan in advance.
