New Student Class Planning

After completing our Steps to Enrollment you are ready to begin your New Student Class Planning

New Student Class Planning Sessions are a required step to enrollment for all First Time to College students (who have never attended a college/university after graduation from high school). Once you attend a group class planning session and create a first semester course plan with a counselor, your class planning hold will be removed and you will be able to register. Class Planning will help you understand pre-requisites, skills advisories, and which courses to select to reach your educational goals. They are offered via webinar.

If you are a New Transfer student or are a Returning student class planning is not the correct service for you. You will need to visit the New Transfer student or Returning student website for your steps to enrollment.

Prior to attending class planning:

A special Class Planning webinar session will be available for eligible Foster Youth, Homeless Youth, Veterans,         Rising Scholars, DSPS, EOPS, and CalWorks on Monday, November 3rd. Eligible students can sign up for this              session on Monday, October 20th.

Class Planning sessions for students starting SBCC in the Spring 2026 term are now available in Starfish for self-booking.
